Updated for 2017-18 - What schools need to consider with regards to involving and accessing parents/pupils views of their processes and procedures for SEND plus how schools evidence that they are following the graduated response of assess, plan, do and review, which can lead to an EHCP.
This session will look at, with the SEN-D Governor for the school, the SEND Code of practice 2015, the graduate response for schools to evidence involvement of parents/pupils in the SEN-D process plus what is expected as ‘evidence’ of school support prior to a request for an Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). It will also discuss and explain the time scales and evidence required of schools before they can request an EHCP and what happens when the EHCP process is initiated.
This session is free to any school/academy that has subscribed to Together for Children's Governor Training and Development Service for the 2017/18 academic year. For those governing boards which do not subscribe, governors may still attend any session, but the school/academy will be charged £80 per place.
