Single Central Register Guidance HOT |
Guidance to support completion of the Single Central Register As part of Ofsted inspections and to comply with Safeguarding Children legislation which came into force on 1 January 2007, schools are required to produce evidence of a Single Central Register (SCR) for each member of staff, (including supply staff), volunteers, governors and all others who have ‘regular’ contact with children within the establishment. The SCR must be a ‘live’ document that must be kept up to date. A template and example SCR can be downloaded at http://www.sunderlandschools.org/EST. |

Childminder Risk Assesment Guidance |
Childminder Risk Assessment Guidance As part of managing health and safety of your childminding business you must control risks in your work place. To do this you need to think about what might cause harm to yourself, your employees (if applicable) and the children and the visitors who use your service. Are you doing enough to prevent harm? This process is known as risk assessment and it is something you are required by law to carry out. A risk assessment is about identifying and taking sensible and proportionate measures to control the risk in your workplace, not about creating huge amounts of paperwork. You are probably already taking steps to reduce risk and prevent harm, but your risk assessment will help you decide whether you should be doing more. |
