First Ever Sunderland Scchool ICT Supplier's Day

Shaping the technology provision into Sunderland Schools - Friday 2nd March 2012 - 09:00 - 16:00

All Sunderland Schools should now have received an invitation to our forthcoming ICT Education Services Showcase Day, to be held on Friday 2nd March at the Sunderland Future’s Pallion Centre.

This is the first of a series of events aimed at supporting schools in Sunderland make the right investments in technology.

We have assembled an interesting set of suppliers and existing partners of the Council to provide an overview of what is an ever expanding education ICT marketplace. We're looking to give you the opportunity first hand to speak to some leading vendors who develop some class leading solutions in Virtual Learning Environments, classroom management systems and on-line learning tools.

The aim of the day is to find out what you think about these potential suppliers to allow us to continue to reshape the service we offer to you, we know there are things we do well but there are things we could do differently, in line with the vision already communicated to you all.

The day will provide an opportunity to hear more about this vision of how we can support schools in Sunderland through:

  • Lowering costs
  • Providing access to the most innovative and exciting tools in the market
  • Providing the greatest level of flexibility in terms of service
  • Maximising the role of the cities burgeoning technology sector through the Sunderland Software City initiative
  • Maximising the cities assets and the forthcoming Super Fast broadband deployment

The demonstrations you will see willinclude BT’s Learn Anytime platform which we will soon be piloting in Sunderland, this is an exciting new project that will allow us to help share and develop a future strategy for supporting schools and academies.

If you would like to I very much hope to see you on the 2nd March where we hope to share and discuss our plans further.

To those not already registered if you're going to come along please book your place by responding to the email that has been sent to the schools account.
